Mike Haarer is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Indiana. He has worked in the field of adolescent residential treatment since 2004 when he began working with youth in court-ordered residential treatment. He earned a BA and MA in Counseling from Grace College in Winona Lake, IN as well as a PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from Regent University.
From 2012 to 2015, Mike participated in Dr. Townsend’s Counselor Training Program and consulted with Dr. Townsend to incorporate the Townsend Model into a Christian Residential Treatment program where Mike served as Executive Director for 12 years. Mike has also served as a process group facilitator and adjunct faculty member at the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine since 2020.
Mike and his wife Emily have three daughters: Corabelle, Olivia, and Regina. Originally from Indiana, they have set out as of 2024 on a traveling adventure they like to call “worldschooling” with plans to visit all lower 48 states as well as various international destinations. Mike enjoys working in special interest areas of executive leadership, parenting, spiritual growth, and mental health.
